Please forgive me being a QNX newbie, why won't the os load

Hello:

I am the advisor to a UNIX Youth Mentor Program in Columbus, Ohio.

htp://369.columbus.oh.us

We are thinking of starting a new class on QNX. Upon downloading the
cdrom
version of QNX, much to my dismay, I found that it only works on x86:-(
We do not have any x86 harware, just Sun, IBM, HP, etc. [All donated:-]
We were given a few Texas Instuments TravelMate4000M 486 Intel DX4 75MHz
note book computers.

We made the CDroms and the boot floppies on them just fine.

It is our goal to not have windows at all on them, just QNX:-)

When we rebooted with the bootable floppy all started out well…

Long story short, QNX found both the EIDE controler and the SCSI aha2
controler. It found the disk drive. But, it looks like it can not find
the CD:-( Either the SCSI CD is not compatble with QNX or the
TI-Notebooks
are not compatable. We ran both the install and the verpose install.
Please take a look at the following and advise:-)

As I am sure you are aware, comming up with 10 to 20 used notebook
computers is not an easy task.

Again, thank you in advacne:-)

You already have a QNX Neutrino partition (type 79). You may delete it
in which case all files will be lost? If you choose not to delete the
partition the installation wil be aborted since the QNX Real Time
Platform
uses this partition type.

Your CD-ROM is probably on SCSI bus, that is not yet supported. It
should be in the next release, expected one month later.
