Phindows problems

Hi. Has anyone seen this before:

–Phindows is up and running with our QNX systems (other users are using it)
–It was working fine for me, until one day it stopped
–It hangs after the connect, and never comes up with the login dialog
(connect settings remained the same)

I’ve wiped away everything and reinstalled. Perahps incompatibility with
something in Windows?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,
I’ve noticed a similar problems in the past with a Phindows client at work. The
problem in our case was the ethernet network and routers linking the two
systems. I suggest that you try pinging both the Phindows client machine from
your QNX server and vice-versa. This will confirm that IP packets can pass
seamlessly from client to server and back again. If you have no route, try
resetting the switches/hubs - it worked wonders for us !

Hope this helps,

Andy.

There was a time, if I recall correctly, that our phrelay line in
/etc/inetd.conf didn’t match the phrelay line suggest in the helpviewer
documentation (can’t remember the exact section, you’ll have to search). But
this is a long shot, since you had it working prior to this problem. But it
cause the same symptom. You’d get one line on the phindows display and it would
hang.

I’ve only seen this connecting to the new QNX RTP with phindows. The screen
is black, but if you move the mouse you can find the login dialogue as the
cursor changes to the text entry one. You can even log in, but it’s all
black. – Lance Roberts
