Hi
I’m having a few problems with the RTP install. I burned
the 90MB iso image onto CD and installed QNX into its own
600 MB partition. However, there seem to be a few probs:
-
I have a dual cpu box, but it doesn’t seem to use SMP.
Checking the newsgroups, it would seem that using the
qnxbasesmp.ifs file boots it in dually mode but I can’t find
that file on the system.
-
Performance for the media player seems lacklustre. I have
320MB RAM but when running the media player with an mpeg movie
I am getting about 0.5 frames/sec, yet the CPU appears to be
doing nothing much during this time.
-
I have a hardware modem on COM3 and when I add the COM3 port
it seems to work OK until it comes to negotiating the PPP link
with my ISP. Then it seems to hang so I can’t get online.
Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if these
questions have been answered before.
Thanks
Graham

Once RTP is started type mkifs qnxbase.smp.build > ./tmpbootfile
then mv ./tmpbootfile to the location of the file that you booted
from. Ex. /fs/hd0-qnx4-2/.altboot for a QNX4 install

Could you post the url to this mpeg movie?

I’ll let someone else field the other question.
