How to clear screen?

I understand that “CTRL-L” clears the screen in a terminal
window. However, I’d like to get it set up as an alias
called ‘cls’ or ‘clear’. I can’t figure out the syntax
or if it’s possible from the help on Dev.ansi.

Anyone done this before?

Thanks,
Barry

Get ‘cls’ from www.qnxstart.com

Unfortunately the ‘cls’ at qnxstart is for Neutrino, and I need
it for QNX4.

I found something on the QNX site that mentions differences
between QNX2 and QNX4. cls is equivalent to the alias
echo \014.

Hope that helps someone else.

Use echo “\f” in a shell script.

If you can compile, try this:

:cls.c
#include <stdio.h>
main()
{
putchar(12);
}

Otherwise, here is a compiled version:

I understand that “CTRL-L” clears the screen in a terminal
window. However, I’d like to get it set up as an alias
called ‘cls’ or ‘clear’. I can’t figure out the syntax
or if it’s possible from the help on Dev.ansi.

Anyone done this before?

Thanks,

They have (or will shortly). Use inn.qnx.com
