non-graphical .wav player

Does anybody have source code/executable for a command line wav file
player?

Thanks,

Kevin

Greetings,

Have a look in the helpviewer. In the “Audio Developers Guide” section there
is a sample file called wave.c which is exactly what you are looking for.

RTP has a set of command line players for audiocd, soundfiles (like
wave,…), and
mpeg audio. Look in /usr/bin for playsound_noph and plaympegaudio_noph,…

These should get you by until RTP patch A/B when you will see something
truely cool in this regard.

James,
I don’t see anything in my current QNX install liek either of those
two files you mentioned. Is there something I have to download first to
install them?

The RTP base package has these :
/usr/bin/PlayAudioCd
/usr/bin/plaympegaudio_noph
/usr/bin/playsound_noph
using
/lib/dll/audiocd_noph.so
/lib/dll/mpegaudio-pic.so
/lib/dll/soundfile_noph.so

If you don’t have these something is wrong with your install.

I just took a look at my QNX 4.25 install and didn’t find a reference to
RTP listed as a choice.
