AbiWord and Launch problems

I installed AbiWord with Package Manager and it runs fine from Terminal with
the command “AbiWord” but I can’t get it to run from Launch in the taskbar.
AbiWord is there in Launch/Editors right next to Notepad (no icon though) but
when I click on it nothing happens.

I tried to add it to the Shelf as a plug-in instead. I create the button with
the command “AbiWord” but when I click the new button nothing happens.

Any ideas how to make the Launch/Editors/AbiWord work?

Any ideas how to make a plugin with AbiWord work in the Shelf?

Thanks

Enter not AbiWord (a shell script) … enter AbiWord_s, the executable, into the
Command field. I don’t know why a shell script isn’t applicable … a bug ??
However … include then ‘export ABISUITE_HOME=/usr/local/AbiSuite’ in your
…profile .

Thanks Armin, that did the trick.

Sorry about this guys … looks like something that used to work
with shelf (ie getting it to launch a shell script) doesn’t seem
to work now. Sigh! I’ll fix it in the next release of AbiWord
at the end of this month if all goes well.

Thanks,

Thomas
