I’d like to create a custom widget that I can subsequently reuse in PhAB. I
am unable to find anything in the help files (perhaps I am not looking hard
enough) that describes this process.
Does any documentation exist and if so, where?

There is a Building Custom Widgets book in the 1.14 docs. It should still
work, but there are better ways to do some of it in 2.0. We’ll be updating
that book at some point when we have time.
