netinfo: no alternate drivers

Hi,

does anyone know where to find some documentation on the
output of netinfo. When I look at mine I sometimes see:

16:16:28 0 Status 1 ( 33) NET ( tx) no more alternate drivers
16:16:28 0 Status 1 ( 7) NET ( tx) failed (vc_attach ctrl pkt)

I’m not quite sure what to make of it. We are starting
Net &
Net.ether905 -v &
in sysinit.1 and have at the moment two nodes running.

Cheers,

Dorothea

You probably have an entry in the netmap for a machine
that is not up. So because Net could reach the machine
for some reason it is telling you that it could not try to reach
it via another driver (second lan) because none is available.

you might like to look at /etc/readme/technotes and there the various
comments to the various network cards (not only the 905 one !)
