Hello.

I think we will need more specifics in order to help. Would you please
give some more info on what kinds of cards and hardware you are using?

Thanks.

Your best bet is if you can hook up an ATAPI CD-ROM. Next in
line would be a floppy. You can download the floppy install from
QUICS.

OK… Thanks for help me!

The PC104 board: JUMPtec MOPS lcd6 166Mhz

We have QNX4…, it’s ok for this board?.., or QNX RTP is better for this
board???

The PC104 board has this devices:

  • Chipset ALI 1534/1543
  • 32 MB RAM
  • Graphic device: C&T69000
  • Network device: Intel 82559ER
  • JUMPtec Chipdisk 32 o 96 MB.

Only problem for both OSes is the CHIP Flash.
There are not drive for this type for flash.

I wrote a driver for it about 2 years ago, but never
was able to boot from it.

The flash Mario is referring to is probably the on-board, soldered
flash. Jump calls it “BIOS compatible”. It’s normally quite
small too (about 1.6MB)
I can understand that there will be a problem using it
with standard QNX drivers-there aren’t any.

The other type is “CHIPdisk” and this is IDE compatible.
There should be no problem with QNX4 or RTP using this flash.
(This is the type Alberto refers to in his post.)

You could have up to 8Meg I beleive. Some was onboard
some on a DIMM like module.

I can understand that there will be a problem using it

Oh I see, the board I used didn’t support this.
