MediaPlayer disappeared....

Hi All,

I just installed QRP from a CD that came with a computer magazine. The
install went abolutely painlessly on an old machine I assembled using
old components.

Anyway, before installing a vanilla SB16 (ISA), I could start the Mixer
app and the Media Player (didn’t make sense, but I did it). Now that I have
installed the soundcard, the Media Player wouldn’t start anymore. The
Mixer shows my card in the list so I assume it is installed fine.

Any idea??

Also, grmmmpff, how do I mount an IDE-cdrom (slave on controller 1)?

Thanks in advance,
Ruediger

Before you buy.

See if this helps:

login as root
sin arg
note what options deva-sb uses
slay deva-sb
/sbin/deva-sb -p220 -i5 -d1,5 ← use the options that you recorded earlier
now in another pterm
phplay &

What does the deva-sb and phplay output look like?
What does “ls /dev/snd” show?

Also, please post the output of /sbin/enum-pnpisa.

Thanks,
