I am a third year student at Conestoga College. I am presently working on a
third year project, developing an embedded system with a 603e processor. I
do not see any compilers for the PowerPC on my host system. I am using the
free download version from the QNX web site… is there something missing?
I’m at a loss, and I need to get going…

You won’t get far, because PowerPC compiler is not part of free QNX at this
time.
The only solution is to buy QNX4 and the NTO cross development.

Is there any way to produce an image to run on this platform?..
I can’t even do that… So Iam to assume that the downloadable O/S cannot
work with my project?

Not at this time
So I am to assume that the downloadable O/S cannot

That would be the proper assumption to make at this time.
However QSSL use to have program for university,
you may be able to get QNX4/Neutrino for free.
