I am just starting to play with my new QNX RTP cd. I installed accepting
defaults all the way.
I tried to build the example ‘Hello world’ application but get the error, on
make, ‘cc: spawn of /usr/ntox86/bin/as failed: No such file or directory’
… which there isn’t! What is the best way forward. Talk about falling at
the first hurdle!
Hi Billy,
I’m very new to QNX myself so my answer may sounds rather stupid, but
did you install the development package from the repository after you
installed the OS? That’s about the extent of any advice I can give you with
me almost non existent knowledge

Yes. The files are present, I think, just not where looked for.
Hi did you installed the gcc and g++ patches from qnx site… if yes then it
was THE MISTAKE. dont do that. reinstall qnxrtp and install all then things
off the cdrom repository only (except the voyager 128bit upgrade)…
evrything will be fine then
enjoy
