Spawning in Neutrino

hi all
I’m relatively new to neutrino and have encountered a situation that
has piqued my curiousity. Does anyone know how spawnve() maps to spawn()?
The help at support.qnx.com shows that spawnve() calls spawn() but doesn’t
really state how the ‘mode’ argument gets translated into the fd_count, fd_map,
and inherit arguments. Comments and or documentation suggestions would
be appreciated.

Next two questions might be “duh” questions, but I’ll ask them anyway. Where
is the FAQ for this newsgroup located?.. Can anyone recommend a good QNX
and/or Neutrino book?

thanks for all your help
Amir

Good Neutrino book: Gettting Started with QNX Neutrino 2.0 by Rob
Krten. Amazon should have it. Similar title exists for QNX 4, again
by Rob Krten. There is also a QNX 4 book by Frank Kolnick which I’ve
heard good things about.

Rob Krten’s book is very good for “Programming” for the Neutrino OS.

I found it lacking in describing just what makes Neutrino, Neutrino,

I would also highly recomment the “Neutrino System’s Architecture”,
available on-line.

For a FAQ, see the Knowledge Base in the QNX Developer’s Network at
