what say u about book on qnx 4

Hi all,

Being a newbie to qnx, I’m wondering if it is worthwhile to purchace
the book entitle " Getting started with Qnx 4 -
A guide for realtime programmers by Robert Krten ".

What would you suggest to read/do to acquire programming knowledge on
Qnx 4. Of course, I had just got myselft a copy of QnX RTP. And going to
install on pentium 100.

All comments, suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Rgds,
nixien

It is definately worth the purchase. I purchased it a couple years ago and
it has come in quite handy.

Get ‘Getting started with QNX Neutrino 2 - A guide for realtime programmers
by Robert Krten’. I just purchased it and since RTP runs on Neutrino it is
just the thing to get started.

Good luck.

There is also an excellent book by Frank Kolnik. I don’t remember it’s
name.

It it a much fatter book so it must be better. ;~) Seriously, it does
cover a lot more information. Frank also wrote the first book on QNX V2
about 13-14 years ago.

That is weird…I checked Amazon and searched for ‘QNX’ when I was looking
for books a couple years ago and it didn’t show up…oops…just checked the
date…it wasn’t out yet…

Well, its on order now. Maybe a posting on *.advocacy or comp.os.qnx when
it came out would have been an acceptable post…or did I miss it???

I did post here when it was published

I experienced the same thing. Instead searching for “QNX”, I searched
for complete title, “getting started with QNX 4 - …” by Robert Krten.
Frank’s appears in “also buy” lists.
