Phindows

Hi! Does anyone know about the security (or lack of it) of Phindows v1.2
over a LAN or internet. If you know of any security patches and
documentation related to it, please let me know.

Thanks.

afaik phindows dosn’t support any security and can use only plain
non-crypted tcp connection.

Thanks.

Andreas,

Sorry, but it is commercial. I don’t think that there has been a trial
version since it made it out of beta. The program itself is on the QNX
(4) CD-ROMS but the license that you buy from QNX has the key to install
it and make it work.

Having said that, Phindows works great. The TCP/IP bandwidth is similar
to ditto’ing a Photon session and hence can be pretty high if the
session has a lot of changing graphics.

One thing that we use it for is to access, transfer files, and configure
some QNX/Photon applications that do not have keyboards or floppy drives
normally attached.

Hi there,

Just a quick question…Why is it so hard to find more information about
Phindows. I’m trying to find out where I could download a trail version (if
that is possible) and if not where I can give it a try anyway.
It’s not commercial so right now it’s allright I guess…

If someone knows about it…Please let me know. I tried ICA and that works
wonderfull…now the other way around…>> )
