About neutrino

Hello,

In my company, we want to begin developing in qnx, we know the advantages of
it.

But we have some doubts about select qnx neutrino or qnx 4 and the tools we
will need.

The hardware will be x86, we want to use TCP/IP, SQL and GUI.

I hope some one could help

Thanks in advance

qnx4:
tcp/ip: tcpip runtime and development 4.25 (stable) or 5beta
sql: sybase sql anywhere 5.5 client/server
gui: photon 1.14B runtime/development

all has beed tested many times and works perfect.

nto2:
tcp/ip: almost the same, afaik 5b is aviable for nto2 too.
sql: Eempress, MySQL, PostgreSQL
gui: photon 2.x runtime/development

well, personally i havn’t tested all above for nto2 but folks told all works
also very well.

sure folks can greatly enlarge this lists.

i see only one disadvantage for nto2 case: lack of sybase sql server

2all: btw buzz brought some news kind of sybase ported their sql anywhere
for nto2. can anybody confirm or disprove this info ?

I hope some one could help

Thanks in advance

I think the decision would need to be based on when you want to ship, and
what OS features you need. Given the features you state below and a ship
date in 12 months, I would think that neutrino is the way to go.
