gnutools for Neutrino on Windows host

Hi,

We have an application that we would like to run on an embedded x86
platform running Neutrino 2.0 Basically, what I feel we need is the gnu
compiler/linker to just build the application (since we have all the
source in C). Can somebody point to me an easy way to do this on a
Windows host. I could setup a PC with QNX RTP but, I would like to
build the application on my Windows host.

Chirag Shah.

Ditto here. I would also like to see a windows hosted toolset.

You can signup for beta program or buy released version of Metrowerks
CodeWarrior for QNX. Call QNX and ask.

Metrowerks is backended by the GNU tool chain. That is what I want so that I
can substitute a different IDE. I was hoping I could obtain the backend and
try to put it under the Watcom IDE. The reason I wanted it under the Watcom
IDE is because that is what we use for QNX4 development. Then I could use
the one IDE to build for both targets. I was hoping I could get the Windows
Host cross development kit free for non-commercial use to see if it could be
done. My company is not developing for QNX6 yet but I was hoping to get the
ball rolling in that direction without having to incur any expenses until
they commit. Having the same IDE would ease the transition. If the company
did commit then they should pay for the tools.

Reading the Metrowerks web page on QSSL I see, “Note: To use the CodeWarrior
IDE you must also purchase the QNX Cross Development Kit (Windows Host) from
QNX Software Systems.” so I guess this is not part of the free for
non-commercial use RTP . Too bad.

Metrowerks BETA? Is Metrowerks working on their bringing their compiler tool
chain backend to QNX6?
