Digital IO Boards

Does anyone know who carries PCI digital IO boards (like the 8255) with QNX
drivers? I’ve tried the main io board manufacturers with no luck.

We use a DIO board from OPTO-22 and another from ICS-ADVENT. Both are
excellent boards, but we wrote all the drivers for them. It’s an easy
driver to write, though.

Are you interfacing the DIO with some sort of I/O carrier like opto-22?
We use the DIO-48 (ICS-Advent) for interrupted inputs. Generates an IRQ
interrupt on any change of state. Otherwise we use opto-22 and poll the
remaining I/O.

All you really have to do is read the I/O port and shove it into a
structure, for either board. The interrupt board has to have an
interrupt
routine, but otherwise the read is exactly the same.

The Opto-22 board can handle up to 512 I/O points per adapter, the
DIO-48
is only 48 discrete points.

Check out the opto-22 web site (www.opto-22.com, enter the search
‘pci-ac28’)
or the ICS-Advent site
(http://www.icsadvent.com/products/pdproductdetail.cfm?keyProduct=258)

Have fun!
