random floppy disk corruption in QNX 4.24

On 3 completely different machines, with good disks, I have noted files that
were copied to a floppy disk to become corrupt. Are there any software
problems with this version 4.24 of QNX dealing with floppies?

Define corrupted? File content corrupted? Disk filesystem structure?
What happen if you run chkfsys on them.

Where at the file copy from.

I don’t know of any issue with 4.24 and floppy. (I’m not from QSSL)

I have also experienced file corruption.

By file corruption I mean that there was data from a different file (usually
logs files) in other files. The other files are usually config files.
Often they are files written by photon utilities just before photon is taken
down, but not always.

I have learned that if I just exit every program gracfully one at a time I
can avoid this problem. Yes, I know that this is rediculous but it helps me
circumvent the problem until QSSL fixes it.

If memory serves… In one of the 4.25 patch levels there is a mention of
a fix for corruption on removable devices - apparently during an unmount
not all buffers were flushed correctly.

Happy New Year!

I’m just now returning to work. The message that I left below was in
reference to RTP, not QNX4. I’m sorry that I didn’t read the subject line.
