I have bought an embedded system (PC/104 based, ICOP-6052V). the steps I
have taken as below:
I use QNX Demo disk to boot this system, it uncompress the boot
image and then report low memory (Since I need 8MB memory while 6052V only
4MB).
Then I think it must be the graphical problem. So I made a boot
image according to QNX documents, which included only shell environment.
I boot the system with the boot image I made, the System start to
boot and display this message
Press ESC for .altboot¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡…
Then restart the system and display above message again and again.
Endlessly.
So I use this boot image to boot a PC, It runs very well.
I have read many documents about ICOP-6052V and know this system is x86
compatible. More, QNX support system with memory from 100K to 4GB. But why
this phenomenon appears? I think there must be any difference between
ICOP-6052V and true Intel 386.
Can you help me to solve this problem? (By the way, we have installer
Microsoft Windows 95 on ICOP-6052V successfully and everything runs normal.)

Look at “image=” attribute in the mkifs utility documentation.
