I need to get ahold of a working sendmail of recent vintage.
8.9.x or later. I’ve tried compiling 8.12.2 with some problems.
This is for QNX4. Thanks for any help or guidance.

I noticed a sendmail 8.9.3 on Quics/usr/free …
The hard part for us was getting sendmail.cf right - mainly because
the guys that wrote that stuff speak a different language than I.
I made a “generic” sendmail.cf that disallows relays, allows
masquerading, and is otherwise not special - I can send it to
you if you want.

Did you think about using another MTA?
I recently startet using exim (http://www.exim.org):
Downloaded, compiled, almost ready to use.
Configuring is pretty simple and the whole stuff is
nearly sendmail compatible.

I think the problem is that the concept of newsgroups is too
technical for the marketing people… It’s below their radar.
