I have been using the 82559 ethernet chip with the QNX 4.25
Net.ether82557 ethernet driver and the system works fine. This week
we purchased a new CPU board that uses the 82559ER ethernet chip and
the QNX 4.25 Net.ether82557 ethernet driver does NOT work. Does
anyone have a QNX 4.25 ethernet driver that works with the 82559ER or
any idea of why it does not work? When the Net.ether82557 driver is
started it hangs the system. When nettrap is run the program does not
identify any ethernet chips at all. I put another ethernet board on
the system that has the 82559 chip and it runs fine. Its as though
the Net.ethernet82557 driver can not configure the chip properly but
the BIOS sees the 82559ER chip.
Thanks for any help,
Phil Thow
What patch of QNX4.25 did you try? Try the driver from 4.25E
