What is the difference between 6.1 and 6.2 Momentics?

Hello,
I try to use QNX RTOS for my company’s project. But there is the two kinds
of QNX 6.1 and 6.2.
What 's the difference between 6.1 and 6.2? I think QNX 6.2 Momentics just
add new IDE development tool and have same kernel & Photon of QNX 6.1. Is
that right?
Any comments will be appreciated.

They are both QNX 6.x, the 6.2 “Momentics” is the latest release and is an
upgrade from 6.1. That means there are bug fixes, performance improvements
and some other things added.

Actually, the “Momentics” name is a tiny bit confusing. “Momentics” is
available in 3 versions, the NC (Non-Commercial), SE (Standard Edition), and
PE (Professional Edition). All 3 include the Neutrino OS and Photon GUI,
and a development environment (ie. Momentics). Momentics actually refers
only to the development environment, only the PE version of Momentics include
the new IDE (based on eclipse). The others do not contain the IDE.

If you are running or using 6.1, then this IS an upgrade. The choice you
will need to make is what things you need for commercial development to be
able to decide if you should purchase SE or PE.

Cheers,
Camz.

Thank you for your response.
Another question about QNX.
If there is a program tested and supported under QNX 6.1, can this program
also run on QNX 6.2 without problem?
Thanks in advance.

I think that 6.2 includes compatibility libs to run 6.1 and even 6.0 apps.
