QNX 6.1.0 and QNX 4.24. A happy couple? Or Not?

Little help please…
I have been using QNX 4.24 and 4.25 together for some time on several
machines connected via wireless serial modem (ie - for research in small
flying craft with computers onboard). New systems are coming into use here.
Can QNX 6.1 be networked transparently via QNX protocols to a QNX 4.24 node
as you could between nodes in QNX 4 (ie - equivalent to old style node
listing in /etc/config/netmap under QNX4, but instead between QNX6 and
QNX4).

QNX 6 does not use QNX4 native networking.

If your QNX4 apps use or can use TCP/IP then your OK.

Or use simply PVM! It’s available at http://www.sf.net/projects/openqnx/

If you need a distributed file system between QNX4 and QNX6 … try to
port
PIOUS → http://www.mathcs.emory.edu/pious (still on my to-do list …)

It’s now available at http://www.sf.net/projects/openqnx/

hello sir,

where qnx 4.24 uses fleet networking native protocol & your qnx 6.1 uses
qnet native networking protocol both are from the same family. It should
work. pls check for the necessary things.
