VncServer

I am having problems running VncServer on Qnx 6.2.Here is what i did.
1)downloaded Vnc tgz file from sourceforge website
2)extracted it in /opt
3) changed /usr/bin/ph script to use /opt/X11R6/ as the Photon path
4) changed /usr/bin/ph script to use /opt/X11R6/bin/XPhoton instead of
Xphoton
5) added /opt/X11R6/bin and /opt/X11R6/lib in PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH
respectively.

I am able to run vncviewer without any problems. But when i run vncserver no
error message is given. But i access the machine using http://vncserver:5801
i get 404 file not found message. When i try to use vncviewer on My Windows
machine it is able to connect but all i see is a black screen with a
cross-hair.Nothing else is seen

Can somebody guide me here?

Here are the steps I took to get VNC working on Neutrino 6.2

  1. Downloaded and installed VNC from source forge.
  2. Installed Perl and Xfree86 from the third party CD.
  3. Successfully launched VNCSERVER after modifying the PATH variable to
point to the Xfree bin directory containing XAUTH.
  4. Launched (Windoze) VNCviewer on my WinNT PC and connected to the QNX
    VNCserver. Viewer opened an X-window.

I have no installation documentation so I just got lucky doing trial and
error stuff to get it working.
What I really want is the photon console (all windows) rather than an
indiviual x window.
Your e-mail refers to changing ph scripts. Where did you get this
information from ?

Only thing i missed is the Xfree86.I used the Xfree86 that was there in the
system.
