support for VIA CLE266

Hi,

is there any support for the VIA graphics controller integrated in the
CLE266 chipset? These Mini-ITX boards seem to be build for a QNX system
(small, silent, cheap), but without an accelerated graphics driver vesa
graphics is very slow…
Unfortunately VIA doesn’t publish documentation for this chip, so
developing the driver by ourselfes is not possible.

cheers,
Wolfram

Hi,
we are interested in mini-ITX too (EPIA serie M). Because you have tested
one, could you tell me something about QNX support for IDE bus mastering,
ethernet and audio?

Hi,

I’m using the EPIA ME-6000 board. I can’t say much about IDE bus
mastering - my CF card just works. Ethernet works fine with the
devn-via-rhine network driver from QNX. Audio works with the third party
driver deva-ctrl-vt8233 (http://mike.qnx.org.ru/vt8233/index_e.htm). The
bottleneck is the graphics - only vesabios seem to work, no s3 drivers…
Therefore no acceleration is available. At the moment I check if it’s
possible to use the source code of the CLE266 Linux xfree86 driver to
switch on at least the most usefull acceleration functions of the HW.

cheers,
Wolfram
