Can I chage the MAXIMUM number of file descriptors?

Hello,

I checked the maximum number of fds that one process can open at once with
“ulimit” command.

$ ulimit -a
time(cpu-seconds) unlimited
file(blocks) unlimited
coredump(blocks) unlimited
data(kbytes) unlimited
stack(kbytes) unlimited
lockedmem(kbytes) unlimited
memory(kbytes) unlimited
nofiles(descriptors) 1000
processes unlimited
vmemory(kbytes) unlimited

and also I came to know the “nofiles” maximum value is set to “1000”.
I’d like to know if I can increase the value by changing any option when I
load file system.
Or any way for that??
Welcome any idea!!

Thanks.
