Has anyone been able to boot into QNX4.25 off a zip disk? I have an IDE
ATAPI Zip drive and I would like to boot into QNX off a zip, but nothing I
have tried with the .boot image has worked. It always shows the Press Esc
to Enter Alternate OS line and then a couple dots and a ? then hard freezes
(have to press reset.) If anyone has any ideas or has gotten this to work,
I would appreciate hearing how. Thanks

I’ve looked pretty deeply into this question
for a customer. As far as I know, QNX’s
loader will not support booting off of
an ATAPI drive. The only alternative I can
think of would be a SCSI Zip with a controller
that will boot off of SCSI ID 5 or 6.
An alternative would be booting off of a floppy
drive with a .boot file that has the Fsys.eide
driver.
