TCP/IP Patch C

Trying to setup NTO to use the QNX4 NFS server . It has several reliability
problem, connection getting lost after 1 hour etc. I know Igor
I should get a different server, lol!

The server was using TCP/IP 4.25, it then go updated to
patch C in a hope that it would improved thing. Unfortunately
now it doesn’t work at all.

There seems to be a problem with portmap.

Running rpcinfo -p I get:
rpcinfo: can’t contact

I have look everywhere for new config file, but nothing.

I may give a try to TCP/IP 5.0 beta

Nfsd, no I don’t have that. Isn’t that part of the 5.0 Beta?
Are you telling me to use that instead?

Sorry, I was confused between 4.25C and 5.0. Since I am using
5.0 all the time, I fell Nfsd is stable.

If it is not in 4.25C, I can’t suggest you using it

We should then fix whatever problem in 4.25C. Are you
sure you are using 4.25C patch? The binaries in 4.25C
is looks like:

rwxrwxr-x 0/0 45779 May 26 11:47 1999 /usr/tcprt/4.25/usr/ucb/nfsd
rwxrwxr-x 0/0 36720 May 26 09:42 1999 /usr/tcprt/4.25/usr/ucb/mountd
rwxrwxr-x 0/0 66961 Aug 11 14:39 1999 /usr/tcprt/4.25/usr/ucb/rpc_so.100
rwxrwxr-x 0/0 32269 Mar 25 11:51 1999 /usr/tcprt/4.25/usr/ucb/portmap
rwxrwxr-x 0/0 228455 Jul 30 14:58 1999 /usr/tcprt/4.25/usr/ucb/Socket
rwxrwxr-x 0/0 119325 Jul 30 15:09 1999 /usr/tcprt/4.25/usr/ucb/Socklet

Does the size/time matching what you are using ?

Trying to setup NTO to use the QNX4 NFS server . It has several
reliability
problem, connection getting lost after 1 hour etc. I know Igor
I should get a different server, lol!

The server was using TCP/IP 4.25, it then go updated to
patch C in a hope that it would improved thing. Unfortunately
now it doesn’t work at all.

There seems to be a problem with portmap.

Do you have a /usr/ucb/Nfsd ?

Try to run that instead of “mountd” and “nfsd”, I mean:

slay -f Nfsd portmap mountd nfsd
/usr/ucb/portmap &
/usr/ucb/Nfsd &

-xiaodan

Running rpcinfo -p I get:
rpcinfo: can’t contact

I have look everywhere for new config file, but nothing.

I may give a try to TCP/IP 5.0 beta
