D-Link Ethernet pcmcia cards

I have been using D-Links DE660 pcmcia ethernet card, and have ran into a
problem that I have been unable to solve.

Out of the box the DE660 is a NE2000 card and for the most part works fine,
you can run “pin” and it lists the card as NE2000. But unexpectedly the
cards just stop working, when they stop working I run “pin” and there now
listed as Memory. Once they fall into this mode I am unable to fix the
problem. So I have just been replacing the cards. 6 out of 10 cards have
now failed.

Any Help.

I know that this will not be much help, but…

I’ve been using the DE660 for a couple of years now. I’ve
never had any problem other than the connector breaking. I
would look for something other than the card. It sounds like
there might be a problem with the PCMCIA controller.

I second that! I have also been using the DE-660 for years and
have never had a problem like this. Have you tried the cards
on a different controller?

attaching the sysinit.1 file in my laptop. Hope it helps
