QNX hangs while booting

I have a system which boots from a single EIDE hard drive which is set
to
slave. The system runs an application which automatically starts on
bootup
and runs until the machine is powered off.

Sometimes on bootup after the “Starting QNX” message is printed a
“No Adapters found” message comes out. After that there is a pause
and then a mount error is printed.

Cycling the power one or more times will eventually get the system to
boot.

The disk is cartridge mounted and it is possible that the cartridge is
causing
the problem although with the disk booting after cycling the power it
seems,
to me, likely.

Any suggestion would be welcome.

Is there a master. You must have a master device.

If you have a master, how is it booting? What is it booting as? Do you have the
second (slave) HD detected correctly? Do you have a CMOS setup that determines
the boot location, what is that location? When you do not boot from the slave
where does it boot from?

Just for starters.
