Photon 1.14A, Phindows and the Workspace Menu

Has anybody else out there upgraded to Photon 1.14A ( a relatively new
version I understand) and Phindows 1.20 (not new) and noticed that the
workspace menu (the one you get with a right-click, or from the QNX
button in the lower-left corner) does not work sometimes?

As far as we can work out, the menu generally works for the first photon
session started after a reboot, but any sessions started on different
Phindows clients won’t. If you close the first photon session and
re-open it, it will occasionally (but not often) work after the reopen.

We run Phindows in Win98 and NT4 clinets and get the same results. Not
sure what happens on the Photon native mode console. We think it is
related to the “first started” thing but not sure whether the phlogin
prompt constitutes a first start, or if you actually have to be logged
in.

Apart from that, the Phindows startup procedure is slower, which is a
drag, but we can live with it. The menu thing is a pain.

Anybody got any clues?

There’s a thread in qdn.public.qnx4.photon (‘phrelay timeout’) dealing
with this problem.

Karsten (glad, not to be the only one with this problem  ).

That may cover the slow startup problem, although I can’t pick the
satisfactory conclusion (Was there a promise of a fix in a new version, or
is there a command-line parameter that I should twiddle?)

Any word from anyone on the lack of workspace menu?
