[Request] Put TCP/IP Programmer guide online !

I looked at the online docs and one of the most useful QNX4 book
is simply not there !

Why ???

Is it too hard to simply:

tar -cvf tcp_prog.tar /usr/help/…/tcpip/prog_guide/*

upload it via ftp and

tar -xvf tcp_prog.tar

at the right place ???

and then add the URL

TCP/IP programmer’s
guide

on the HTML file under the QNX4 section.

Since it takes less than 5 minutes to do that, why are you waiting for ?

Thank you !

Fred.

Why don’t you do it yourself. There a bunch of simple to install web server
out there.

Thank you !

Fred.

From the beginning of the release, we’ve intended to put the
TCP/IP v5.0 (for QNX 4.25) books online; but because of
other priorities, the product wasn’t released in the timeframe
that we’d originally anticipated. ;-(

All of the work required to make our files “web-ready” went into
this version – i.e. added appropriate navigation links,
information for searches, online indexes, etc. –
so please DON’T ask for the previous version:
TCP/IP for QNX 4 docs (for QNX 4.25), the HTML source isn’t web-compatible!

Since “TCP/IP v5.0 for QNX 4” will be going out as a release candidate this week,
we’ll make the v5.0 docs available on the web. They’ll be updated as required,
and when the release is made final.

I hope this makes for a nice Christmas present.

That’s funny; I thought HTML was “web-ready”

Our tools created HTML that was appropriate for the Helpviewer,
but didn’t incorporate web user-friendly features such as navigation links
(PREVIOUS button, NEXT button, UP button), online search capability,
online indexes, etc (see those 3 or 4 buttons at the top of the page?).
These are all features that the helpviewer did, they weren’t incorporated
into the HTML.

Merci !
