Hello,
I have a newly installed QNX4.25D system from the June 2000 CD. If I start Dev.par
from the sysinit, it crashes @ 0005:000007AC. I have tried starting it from the command
line, after I log in, and it runs.
The file is stored on a file server and several different types of computers boot (bootp)
from that file server. All report the same crash @ 0005:000007AC. I have also tried
starting Dev.par right after Dev, at the end of the sysinit, just before the tinit line,
and with lots of sleeps in between.
What is causing this crash?

A bug in Dev.par. I beleive there is a Dev.par in the Alpha or Beta that
fixes
that.

Mario is correct, there is a new Dev.par that fixes this issue. However you
will need to be in the beta group to obtain it. If you are not in the beta
group you can e-mail
beta@qnx.com
and send them the following information:
- Name
- Company Name
- Beta group you wish to join (qnx4)
- Fax number
- QUICS User ID (if avail)
