QWindows&SciTech (more)

Hello,

Is it true, that QSSL won’t license the latest SciTech drivers for QNX
Windows?
These drivers support a lot of new video cards and QW users would like to
use them because the old models are out of the market (e.g. it isn’t
possible
to buy Matrox G200 and it’s getting hard to buy Matrox G400 and
the latest and easily available Matrox G450 isn’t supported by the current
display
doctor for QNX(4) ).

Is QNX4 still alive???

As far as I know, Scitech drivers is included with QNX Windows nowadays,
or is available free of charge. QSSL licensed the drivers from
SciTech for just this reason you mention below (unavailability of
hardware).
Did you contact your sales rep?

Hello,

We have tried SciTech driver, and we have found that for S3 cards,
it runs correctly without interruption only several days (3-20).
Then screen becames to be REPLY-BLOCKED or SEND-BLOCKED to gr.scitech
permanently. May be it is problem of QWindows (and our old version),
but anyway be careful.

Double buffered mode never worked well with the Scitech driver (very
sluggish, jumpy mouse). Was this ever fixed? Will it be?

Hi Stephen,

There was an update done to both the display doctor, as well as the
drivers from Scitech have been updated. These haven’t made it to
beta yet, and I cannot promise that our changes or Scitech’s fixed
this issue, however the developer has a strong feeling that it
had been addressed. The new drivers and version of the display doctor
haven’t quite made it to beta as of yet, however they are not far off.
Unforutnatly I don’t know any dates, but you can try joining the
beta group

http://qdn.qnx.com/beta/index.html

and then you would get the information as soon as it came out.
