Duplicating a Hard Drive

Hi All,

I have a need to duplicate several hard drives. My base hard drives is
2111 MB (2GB) in size. I can no longere get the same type of drive any
longer so I need to duplicate the drive to a different size. I have
some 4.32 GB drive that would meet our needs just fine. It would seem
that for some reason QNX will not duplicate unlike all the other
operating system that we have. I have tried Ghost 5.1 and 2001 to do
this duplication, it seems that the duplication completes correctly.
When I try out the newly duplicated drive the QNX porsion of the drive
no longer works. I do not know how to make the ‘dd’ command work so it
would make this type of duplication from one size to the other. Anyone
out there got any ideas how to do this?

John

if you go to qdn.qnx.com and search for ‘copy hard disk’ you will see some
hints. a good start is some scripts provided by some users in:

usr/free/qnx4/os/utils/disk/ called QNX_drive_copy*

Gee I was hoping that I had got it right with qnx.qnx.com because there is
nothing about duplicating a QNX OS hard drive of 2G to a larger hard drive at
qdn.qnx.com’. You see I had already looked up there, that is why I ask the
question. As far as the ‘usr/free/qnx4/os/utils/disk/’ I’m going to take a guess
this is the old BBS system which my firewall will not let me contact any more. So
is there any other place you might have stuffed the ‘usr/free/qnx4/os/utils/disk/
called QNX_drive_copy*’ so one could look at it.

Just a little add on to the last message. I can get to
http://www.qnx.com/cgi-bin/dir_find.cgi?/usr/free/qnx4/os/’ but from here there
is no ‘utils’ or ‘disk’ selection.
