Automatic login

Hi,

I would like to be able to login into the QNX system without having to
type-in my username. I know tinit controls the login utility, but I am not
able to log automatically upon bootup.
I tried to write a one line shell script that will echo “root” at the
login
prompt, but I dont know the shell script command for “enter” which will
cause login to accept “root” as username…
Can someone please help?
Thanks

You should use -c option of tinit like that
-c"login "

If you use ‘-c"login -f "’ you can even
override the password, if one is set.

Also,
if you are only using Photon and it’s started in your sysinit file, and you have
no password on your username (granted that’s alot of if’s) then you can use the
export variable LOGNAME and set it to your login name.
