Not able to FTP

Hi Everybody,
I am running QNX4.25. I am not able to ftp as any user. Whenever I try to
FTP I get the following error “'530 User XXX access denied”. I can telnet
using the same username. All the users have a password. The username does
not appear in /etc/ftpusers. I can ftp as user anonymous. I checked for
licenses also
Is there anything that i have missed to setup.

A 530 is the response for a bad login/password (among other things?)
Is it possible your ftpd on the receiving end is pre-crypt patch
and the shadow file there has had the crypt patch applied?
