Hi.
I have a client laptop here with QNX 4 and Photon 1.14. They installed the
software on this laptop.
I tried to create a new user ‘augie’, and I added the ‘sea’ group as usual.
If I set a password for augie, then I can’t login.
I have installed the crypt upgrades for QNX 4, Photon 1.14 and I’m using TCP
5. Still, If I set a password, I can’t login. Why? How do I fix this?
I changed the password for ‘root’ and it also locked out root. Luckily, I
had created ‘bin’ with root privileges and I was able to login as bin and
take out the password for root.
What am I missing here? I have been doing this for a while and I just can’t
figure this out.
I’m one step away from re-installing the whole thing, but I didn’t want to
lose all the work that’s already done.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Augie
Sounds like you have a pre-crypt login or passwd prog. (X-OR those).
