phlib_render_11

What is the function/purpose of phlib_render_11 in /dev/shmem? Of the 3
photon systems I have running, only one has this file in /dev/shmem.

Yours in ignorance

Hi Julian,

I’ve wondered about this before too.
All I have found is the following documentation extract about shared
libraries begining with the “ph” prefix:

“Ph - Photon primitives that package up the draw requests and forward them
to the Photon microkernel for steering and clipping until they arrive at the
graphics driver ready to be rendered on screen. Although not commonly used
by application programmers, these routines are heavily used by the graphics
and widget libraries.”

This library will be linked depending on what widgets are being used by
photon applications on your systems and whether or not they require its
features.

Hope this helps,

Liam Power.
