I’m having the following problem with phindows1.20 under W2K:
When I display Tilcon’s gui editor all the pull down menu items have their
text missing. This only happens with phindows. If I use phditto on a QNX
machine the display is correct. I’ve tried pointing phindows at several
different machines, all with different graphics cards and get the same
problem.
The QNX applications supplied with the photon runtime distribution all seem
to display their menus correctly. So it seems to be a problem limited to
phindows and Tilcon.
again, all help gratefully accepted.

not sure about exactly Tilcon progucts but phindows dosn’t support for
example displaying TrueType Fonts if they used on photon side. probably some
problems with fonts ? also afair we expirienced some troubles with
displaying non-english text in phindows session.

Hi Julian
I checked with on of the developers and he feels that it is a
problem with a using a font that we are not allowed to transmit.
Hope this helps

If this is the case why does it work for phditto and not phindows?
thanks

phditto is QNX4 Photon to QNX4 Photon – it might be that we would have
those fonts licensed on both ends – but wouldn’t have them licensed for
the Windows box.

Wouldn’t it be better for the font to be substituted by a licenced one,
rather than displaying nothing, or is this technically too difficult?
