I’m running qnx 4.25 with photon last updated with the may 2001 CD
I need to take a snap shot of a screen to a file I do not have a printer
on my computer
from the application tool bar I start snapshot click on print to file
click on begin
and get an error could not open printer

how can I take a snapshot of a screen to a file

There are a couple of steps that you may have missed.
First you must have Dev.par running. Next, you
probably want to start lpsrvr as following:

lpsrvr -f/usr/photon/print/lpsrvr.photon

In /usr/photon/print there is a file “printers.sample” which
you may need to copy to “printers”.

Once this is all done, right clicking on your desktop
background, or pressing the QNX start button will bring up
an option th “Setup Printers”. You will want to “install”
your Printer. Thereafter the snapshot utility will bring
up a “Select a Printer” window when activated.
