I was trying to get a Toshiba laptop to run Qnx4.25.
It booted fine from the install floppy and went through
the install without any problems. When I tried to boot
off the hard drive, it either hangs after 2 dots, or it
reboots over and over.
It is a Toshiba 1800 series laptop.
any ides or how to get it to boot - or does anyone know if this
laptop won’t boot.

I copied the boot image off the hard drive onto a floppy.
The computer boots off the floppy with no problems.
why ???

Glenn,
Sounds like an issue with drive geometry. The geometry that it is formatted
with matches what
is in the boot image, but not what the BIOS thinks it is to do the initial
boot.
You didn’t mention what version you are on but early 4.24, and I think
early 4.25, EIDE drivers
had this issue.
One thing to try is wiping the entire drive - make sure the MBR is zero’d -
and to a complete
clean install from a cold boot.
Sorry I can’t offer a better solution but it has been a while since I had
to go through these
kind of problems.
