TCPIP 5.0 and pppd dial on demand - again ...

Hi,

this is second time to send this article to this group.

After first time, when I send this, I receive answer in
one ordinary form like use "pppd /dev/ser1 local_ip:remote_ip demand " and
this will work…

But nothing at all after to many hours of testing, reading documentations
and source code from
pppd-2.3.5 distribution which is ported to QNX.

First I have problem with connect script witch did’t want to run
properly chat utility
for dealing with modem, but I figure out that I must put sleep before chat
start because
pppd lock serial port. So default call mode now works ok but dial on
demand - NO!

I spend to many hours on testing this feture butt without positive
results.
My result is that is something wrong in pppd because when I run

pppd /dev/ser3 192.168.1.1:192.168.1.2 demand defaultroute icpc-accept-local
icpc-accept-remote idle 60 call myisp user my_user_name
(Note that same command work without parameters which is nessesery for
demand dialing)

pppd start and I can ping local adress so pppd works OK.
Butt when I try telnet some internet adress pppd must run connect script
butt nothing hapend.
So if in this moment (telnet to some internet ip is ruuning and waiting!!!)
send pppd SIGUSR1 signal with slay -sSIGUSR1 pppd, pppd start connect script
and connections is establsed and telnet work. Butt when IDLE time hung-up
connection
same problem ocour…
