Problem running QNX4.23 on 1 GHz Pentium

We are using a 1 GHz Pentium node to existing network and running the
application that was on old P233. The problem with new 1 GHz machine is that
sometimes the application process blocks on other node with no reason. For
example, a process sometimes “Reply” blocked on other node’s “Tinit”
process, which it has nothing to do with the application process…

Anyone know what causes the problem? May the CPU speed is too fast for
QNX4.23?

Thanks,

You could try turning off the processor caches and see if
the problem persists. You also might want to install the
latest QNX 4+ OS as a test. As a practical matter, if you
are having a problem with 4.23 that doesn’t exist in 4.25,
your only hope is to upgrade. If you can’t upgrade, your
only hope is that the problem is due to some weird and
correctable user programming problem. Even if there as a bug
in 4.23 and the latest, QSSL won’t issue a fix for just 4.23.
