Does anyone know of a PCL print filter for QNX4?

Hi, there.

I would like to use filep (which produces postscript output) to print to
an HP DeskJet printer (which only understands PCL, as is my
understanding). Is there any QNX program out there that can act as a
simple filter that will convert the postscript to a PCL format?

Thanks very much.

ghostscript can do this. There may be pre-complied version on QNX’s
site, however I recently got the latest GNU ver 6.51 (from
sourceforge) to compile with minimal hassle.

That’s good to know. Did you have to install troff or anything of that
nature to get the one from sourceforge to work?

Thanks.

It’s not needed. The one thing we always do is remove the X11
drivers from the makefile. As I recall, there had been Photon
drivers ( from Bill Brown?) but I don’t think they are on the
sourceforge version.
