I’m running a sl/ip link over a 64kbit line. The MTU is 296. Is there any
way of increasing the MTU (and is this wise?!) I’m running Socket 4.25C

I think slip is a simple interface, so expect something
like “ifconfig sl0 mtu 1500” would work, no?

If the integrity of your link is good, then a larger MTU makes sense. 64
kbit sounds digital. If so, go for it. Make sure that both ends of the
link support it or it is a waste of time.
