chkfsys - out of memory

Hello group,

I have a P166 machine with 3 SCSI hard drives installed: two 4GB drives and
one 36GB drive. When running chkfsys (v4.25) on the 36GB SCSI drive, it
reports “out of memory allocating old bitmap” and aborts. The machine has
32MB of RAM installed, and osinfo reports about 7.6MB free. Is the issue as
simple as needing more physical RAM installed?

Thanks in advance -

Hi,
You could try adding more RAM to see if it helps. The bitmap can use a
lot of RAM if it’s large (depends on size of the QNX partition). In my
setup I limit my QNX partitions to 4GB (I doubt I’ll ever use more than 2,
maybe as high as 3).
