Is Intel PRO/1000XT NIC supported under QNX4 OS??

Hi,

I trying to find new server for QNX4 and now I have one
interested (cheap) offer for Dell PowerEdge 1500SC with this
NIC adapter on motherboard. This PC also have an integrated
Adaptec AIC-7899 - I hope this will work… btw. we will use
one PCI RAID controler so this is optional port…

Is there some who tested this?? Hardware Support ???

Q: What is with 64-bit PCI cards is it supported by QNX4 ??

Q: Is Intel PRO/1000XT NIC supported under QNX4 OS??

This card is based on INTEL 82554EI chip and seams that must be
compatibile with fast ethernet.

Short description of IntelPRO/1000XT form www.intel.com

Easy, cost-effective migration to Gigabit Ethernet over
Category 5 cabling.
High network performance and flexibility via PCI-X bus at
64 bit/133 MHz.
Alleviate server bottlenecks while increasing uptime through advanced
server features.

Intel 82544EI Gigabit Controller
High performance, reliability
10/100/1000Mbps
Easy migration to faster networks
Run now at 10/100/1000Mbps to future proof
Will automatically begin running at Gigabit speeds with minimal
reconfiguration by IT staff, saving time, money, and server downtime
Category 5 cabling; uses existing infrastructure - cost-effective
migration
Using pre-existing cabling saves money by eliminating costly re-wiring

Compatible with Fast Ethernet
Reduce training costs and ramp rollout quickly

IEEE 802.3ab
Standards interoperability

Adaptive Load Balancing, Gigabit EtherChannel*, Intel Link
Aggregation, IEEE 802.3ad

Scalability and high availability

This is very bad… we are always 2 year behind with hardware drivers on
QNX4.
I was hope that on QNX6 this will be better but nothing…

I have same problem with AIC-7895. When you want to buy somenthing new
always
some pice of hardware is’t supported…

When was last QNX4 patch ? - In past millenium

Patch E has an Fsys.aha8scsi which supports this chip.
