Most any printable character is allowed as part of a file name – except
that / is not allowed.

I created the following file names on my system just for fun:

!@#$%
“asfdsad”
‘sf’
?.,;:
^&*()
_-+=|
`
sdf asfd~as
8345s

Of course, some or all of those names may be difficult to deal with
using the command line and command line utilities just because they
may change how your command line is parsed.

Invalid QNX4 filename characters are: 0x00 - 0x1F, 0x2F, 0x7F, 0xFF.

The original Fsys implementation allows control characters in the range
0x01 - 0x1F however complaints (mostly internal to QSSL) were received. In
particular filenames with hidden characters (i.e. covered up using
BACKSPACE – 0x08) really bothered people for some reason.

Ultimately Fsys was changed to disallow all control characters.
